Bexar County taxes?
A title company can pay the taxes, penalties, and interest from what the house sells for. Being on a posted list does not take the house that day.

Taxes, the posted list, and closing
In Texas a tax lien attaches on January 1. Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector Albert Uresti's office collects for the county and dozens of other jurisdictions. You can look up the account, balance, and any posted sale on the county tax site.
| At closing | The title company pays delinquent taxes, penalties, and interest from the proceeds, then pays you what is left. You do not have to bring a separate cashier's check for the tax bill if the number covers it. |

| The posted list | Bexar tax sales are often run through Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson. A listing on a tax-sale docket is a collection step. It does not, by itself, move title that afternoon. |
| Not a mortgage sale | Tax foreclosure is a different statute from a deed-of-trust sale on the first Tuesday. Texas also gives many owners a redemption period after a tax sale, especially on a homestead. Mortgage foreclosure in Texas does not. |
Appraisal value lives at the Bexar Appraisal District. What you owe lives at the Tax Assessor-Collector. They are not the same office. This page is not legal advice and not a tax-sale calendar.

How a sale works here
| The call | About ten minutes. You describe the house and what is going on. That is enough for a number. |
|---|---|
| The number | A real number on the call or shortly after, from your description, recent sales on your street, and repair cost. It holds if the house is as described. |
| The walkthrough | About fifteen minutes, in person or remote. If the house matches, the number stands. If something material was left out, the number moves. You hear it before you are bound. |
| Title | A title company moves the money. Taxes, liens, and payoffs come off the proceeds. Who pays what is in the contract. |
| Assignment | LotLine may close or assign the contract to a cash buyer. If assignment is part of your deal, you see it in writing before you sign. |
| Your cost | Nothing to LotLine. No fee to get an offer. |
If the house is in decent shape and you have sixty or ninety days, a listing agent usually nets you more. This path is for when time, condition, or hassle is the actual problem. Nothing on this page is legal advice.
Questions people ask
Can I sell a San Antonio house if I owe back taxes?
Yes, if the buyer and the title company will close. Delinquent taxes, penalties, and interest are paid from the proceeds. What you walk away with is the offer minus those amounts and the other items on the settlement statement.
If my house is on a Bexar tax-sale list, is it already gone?
No. A posted tax sale is a collection process. You still own the house until a tax sale conveys it. Being on the list does not remove you. Call the Tax Assessor-Collector or the firm on the notice for the exact status of your account.
Is a tax foreclosure the same as a mortgage foreclosure in Bexar County?
No. Mortgage foreclosure is the first-Tuesday trustee sale under Property Code 51.002. Tax foreclosure is a separate process, often through a law firm such as Linebarger, and Texas often allows a redemption period after a tax sale. Do not treat the two calendars as one.
Where do I see what I owe?
The Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector account search. The appraisal district site shows value, not the payoff with penalties.
Tell LotLine about the house. You get a real number on the call or shortly after. No fee to get one, and no obligation to take it.
