Foreclosure sale date
on a San Antonio house?

You still own it until the auction. A sale has to close before that Tuesday, not just go under contract.

Your deadline

First Tuesday

Bexar sells between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the courthouse steps. A sale has to close before the gavel, not just go under contract.

Texas Property Code 51.002 · Bexar County Clerk

How a Bexar foreclosure sale actually runs

Texas non-judicial foreclosure is a clock, not a feeling. Preforeclosure and a posted sale date are the same process at two points on that clock.

The notices Texas Property Code 51.002 requires a 20-day notice of default and opportunity to cure, then a 21-day notice of sale. The sale notice is posted and filed with the county clerk.
The day First Tuesday of the month, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If that Tuesday is January 1 or July 4, Bexar moves the sale to the first Wednesday, same hours.
The place West side of the Bexar County Courthouse, 100 Dolorosa, between the courthouse and the Paul Elizondo Tower, unless Commissioners Court designates another spot.
After the gavel Texas has no post-sale redemption on a mortgage foreclosure. Once it sells, you do not buy it back through a statutory redemption period. That is different from a tax sale.

You remain the owner until the trustee's sale. Going under contract is not enough. The deed has to record and the lien has to be paid before the auction. The Bexar County Clerk keeps a GIS map of posted mortgage foreclosure notices, updated about 18 days before the sale and again the first Friday after.

Selling is one option. Calling the servicer about a reinstatement, modification, or short payoff is another. A HUD-approved housing counselor is a third. This page is not legal advice and not a promise that a sale can beat every date.

How a sale works here

The call About ten minutes. You describe the house and what is going on. That is enough for a number.
The number A real number on the call or shortly after, from your description, recent sales on your street, and repair cost. It holds if the house is as described.
The walkthrough About fifteen minutes, in person or remote. If the house matches, the number stands. If something material was left out, the number moves. You hear it before you are bound.
Title A title company moves the money. Taxes, liens, and payoffs come off the proceeds. Who pays what is in the contract.
Assignment LotLine may close or assign the contract to a cash buyer. If assignment is part of your deal, you see it in writing before you sign.
Your cost Nothing to LotLine. No fee to get an offer.

If the house is in decent shape and you have sixty or ninety days, a listing agent usually nets you more. This path is for when time, condition, or hassle is the actual problem. Nothing on this page is legal advice.

Questions people ask

Can I still sell my San Antonio house after I got a foreclosure sale notice?

Yes, until the auction. You own it until then. The sale has to close, and the lender has to be paid, before the first Tuesday (or the Wednesday Bexar uses when January 1 or July 4 falls on that Tuesday).

Is preforeclosure different from a posted sale date?

It is the same Texas process at an earlier point. Default, then the 20-day cure notice, then the 21-day sale notice. The deadline that matters for a sale is still the auction, not the first letter.

Can I get the house back after a Bexar County foreclosure auction?

Not through a statutory redemption right. Texas mortgage foreclosure does not give the former owner a period to buy the house back after the trustee's sale. Tax foreclosure is a different statute.

Where do I see if my house is posted?

The Bexar County Clerk's GIS foreclosure map, or the clerk's deed records at 101 W. Nueva. The map is updated about 18 days before the sale.
